Did you know in Heaven there won't be any colored-only or white-only sections there? If you know that, then how come the Sunday morning worship service is the most segregated two hours of the week? Why does our Lord's brown children, white children, red children, black children have their own places where they worship Him?
I think choir practice for the Heavenly Chorus needs to start down here. I guess that's why I've written:
So let me introduce this Interactive Curriculum to you...
The Workshop:
The Concilium is an interactive workshop designed to assist Conciliators in dialoguing about cross cultural issues.
The Mission:
If you decide to accept this mission you will have an opportunity to compartmentalize your views regarding the African American culture.
We will define various terms as it relates to racial reconciliation. We want to provide a safe atmosphere where everyone is welcomed and
allowed to share their perceptions and experiences. All opinions will be respected. We are allowing the Holy Spirit's power to work on
individual consciences. Our scripture reference is
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28
The Format:
The most effective approach to reconciliation is to provide a systematic study of the subject. This cannot be achieved by one session only.
The topic is entirely to broad to contain in a 2 hour seminar. This interactive approach was developed to facilitate the lecture format,
biblical exegesis, group discussion, games, experiments, field trips and service projects. With an emphasis on personal discipleship,
pastoral care and counseling.
Additionally, each participant will be held accountable to the rest of the group regarding their intentionality.
The Objective:
To condition the Conciliator for the race towards cross cultural interaction.
The Course:
The Concilium will be held on a bi-monthly basis for two hours. Each class builds on the previous session. Only those who are committed
for the 6 sessions should register. In the event of extenuating circumstances the missed class can be made up the following session.
(Provided there is enough space.)
